CMC Rock, LLC – Company Profile

CMC Rock is a wholly owned subsidiary of Construction Materials Company, LLC (CMC), which was founded in 2006 following its acquisition of the aggregate assets of Z Rock and Tru Crushing. These companies had been operating aggregate-producing properties in Utah and providing portable crushing services across the western United States since the early 1970s. CMC quickly grew into one of Utah’s largest aggregate producers. In December 2010, CMC sold its aggregate-producing assets to Old Castle Materials – Staker Parson Companies.

Throughout its history, CMC Rock has contributed to some of Utah’s largest and most prominent construction projects. From 2006 to 2010, the company supplied aggregate materials for major initiatives, including:

  • UTA’s Salt Lake to Provo FrontRunner
  • West Valley Light Rail expansion
  • Mid-Jordan Light Rail
  • UDOT’s Mountain View Corridor
  • Pioneer Road
  • I-15/11400 South Interchange
  • SR-92 Reconstruction
  • NSA’s Utah Data Center
  • Murdock Canal Enclosure

Today, CMC Rock manages over 3,500 acres of aggregate properties, with two operating locations in Utah County: CMC – South Pelican Point, strategically located on Highway 68 (Redwood Road) just south of Saratoga Springs, and CMC – West Mountain, located in the southern part of Utah County. The latter site was used for the UDOT’s I-15 Core Project. CMC Rock also continues to perform mobile crushing, providing flexible solutions for various aggregate needs across the region.

In addition to its aggregate operations, CMC Rock operates three concrete batch plants located in Heber, Payson, and Saratoga Springs to meet the growing demand for high-quality concrete products across the region.
